I’m Dana. In my former life I was a television news reporter and fill-in anchor at the NBC affiliate in Denver, CO (9News). I also happen to be in recovery from a nasty addiction to pain killers I developed a few years ago after hip surgery. That addiction knocked me on my a** and almost destroyed my family. Now I’m trying to live as healthy and honest as possible. To stay healthy, I asked myself how can I get as many nutrients as possible in one meal? The answer came to me in the form of a smoothie. Smile emoji. I pack mine full of greens, seeds, healthy fats, fruits and adaptgogens (adaptgogens are plants and roots that help the body adapt to stress and to exert a normalizing effect upon bodily processes. They also help balance hormones and reduce cortisol levels; a well-known example is ginseng). I also add adaptgogens to juices and lattes; there are endless combinations. And to stay honest? I’m true to myself, I set boundaries and say NO when necessary. Most important of all I don’t put up with anymore sh*t from people, and I no longer give them any. Now I’m happily moving forward in my life, enjoying three crazy kids and an exasperated husband! Wink emoji.
